I planted a Magnolia, Suzy variety, approx. 10 years ago... up until last year it has done well, but last year I noticed that it didn't flower well in spring 04, there were areas on the tree which had no leaves and the rest of the tree the leaves would come on but instead of the deep waxy green they had a brownish hue. All in all not a healthy looking tree.
This spring I'm watching as very little is happening with my tree what few blossoms have started to sprout are withering on the stem. I hate to cut it down and just don't quite know what to do with it at this point.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Possibly lilac blight. By the way, it's 'Susan', a Kosar-DeVos Hybrid from the U.S. National Arboretum.
