I have been reading through the posts and was wandering if my date palms are turning brown from "over watering" the soil where I live is lots and lots of clay when they were planted in the ground I placed lots of Potting soil in the hole before placing the palm in the hole and it only get water from the drip system of 5 min every other day at a rate of 1 gal. an hour so I can't imagine it is getting too much water. They started to brown only 4 days after being planted in the ground. Can someone give me some advice on how to check to see if there is too much or not enough water and how to correct the browing tips on my palms. Thanks!!
