Hi all, I've noticed that in literature regarding a plant's tolerance for drought stress that "bars" are frequenty used as a unit of measurement. My question is what does this unit measure (water tension, I assume, but can somebody please explain?) and what are some figures that correspond to both strong and weak drought tolerance in a particular species? Any in depth explanation by a knowledable source would be highly appreciated! Thank you!
