I have had, in the last two months, 3 sprigs of yellow balls perhaps 2 mm in diameter on my parlor palm. I am wondering if anyone can tell me if they are seeds and if so how to get them to germinate.
Attached is a photo of this growth.

    Thanks,
    Kathy

My mother had a parlor palm when i was growing up and it used to get those little yellow balls all the time. They are surely flowers just very small but we never knew if they got fertilized or not. We used to take the ones tat fell off and put them back in the pot to see if they would sprout. We had that plant for most of my childhood and never had any germinate. Maybe the flowers need a bee or wasp or some other insect to pollinate it.

Thank you for your reply. I did plant a few a couple of weeks ago, but nothing sprouted. I am disappointed some, but now my interest is piqued as to how to propagate palms other than from cuttings.

    Thanks,
    Kathy

I didn't think neanthe bella could be propagated by cuttings?
