Identification: Mushroom in bathroom!

    Hi, please could you tell me whether the mushroom is toxic and how best to remove it? It is behind the toilet seat!

    Hi Shelly,
    Hard for certain ID from this photo, but all things considered, it is most likely a Peziza, e.g. Peziza domiciliana. Not known to be toxic.
    As with any mushroom, removing the mushroom does not remove the body of the fungus, which may fruit again when damp conditions allow.
    Happily this group are known to be saprobes rather than wood decayers.
