Last summer I removed my front lawn and after improving the soil planted shrubs, trees and perennials. I topped it off with several inches of compost. Just recently there are tons of weed seedlings sprouting. What type of mulch should I apply this spring to keep the weeds in control and my plants happy? Bark? More compost? Corn Gluten? Any weed control suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I sure wouldn't use more compost, it is the perfect environment for new weed seeds to grow or ones in the compost that may have not been killed.
