These plants were in the garden when we bought the house. I would like to know whether they are edible, especially the pink-flowered plant as the aroma is very strong, like the sage often added to pork sausage, mmm! Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Identify 2 sage plants - are they edible?

Yes, I believe they are Salvia, but am wondering what strain they are. I'm very interested in using them in recipes, IF they are edible. Does anyone know? Thanks.

First one looks like a S. microphylla Cv. isn't considered a culinary Sage.

Second looks to be Salvia chamaedryoides, neither is poisonous so if you like
to experiment have at it. S. clevelandii (a California native) is edible but VERY
    strong so use it sparingly.

Thanks Chris! The second one looks to be a match - S. chamaedryoides. But the photo link to first one doesn't have the same leaves. (Sorry, my photo didn't capture a good look at the leaves.) I believe it's S. Greggii (http://www.gardeninginarizona.com/Plants/Lamiaceae/big/Salvia_greggii.html). It is SO aromatic I may take your suggestion and try it - just wondering who the first victim should be?!? :)

It could be greggii or it's hybrid S. x jamensis (microphylla x greggii)

After getting run out of my house using a stinky Cleveland Sage
I'll let someone else be your guinea pig! :-)
