Identification: I need help with the identification of a mushroom.

    I found these mushroom growing out of dung. Found in Oklahoma. I have looked threw many pictures on different sites, and I'm still not able to clearly id them.

    Do you recall whether there was a "ring" on the stem of the first set of mushrooms? Do you have more photos of these?

    Shroomery.org are experts in Psilocybe-type mushrooms. You'll get an ID pretty quickly on this one.

    I do not see a ring, but I also noticed there seems to be another kind growing near these brown ones, they appear more flat then bell shaped.

    was it growing on horse or cow dung? If it is cow dung, then my guess is Psilocybe coprophilia.

    What if it were horse dung, then what could it be? I heard that Psilocybe coprophilia can grow from either horse or cow dung?

    I find it on cow dung about 99% of the time up here in Colorado. So are you saying it is on horse dung?

    no bluing that I can see, when they get old the gills turn really dark...like almost black.

    Looks like a cow pie. If your horse's dung looks like that, rush him to a vet.

    Most Psilocybes have purple black spores, hence the dark gills.

    I agree with MycoRob about posting them on Shroomery.org. They're aces at this.
