I live on Malcolm Island, off the northern end of Vancouver Island in BC. I have found a couple of small stands of this mushroom, in the forest, but near the foreshore on the north side of Malcolm Island. The closest match I have been able to ID is Hydnellum caeruleum, but the small specimen in the photo showing the tooth-like structures extending down the entire stipe seems a little different from the photos I have seen. Any thoughts or views most appreciated.
