I have a dying spindle palm, I am down to 1 leaf and 1 shoot I just self diagnosed it with scale, I THINK thats the prob bc there are a lot of little spiney looking things on the underside/base of each of its fronds, and I noticed that when the ends of the leaves die they retreat and head back for the green area and work their way towards the base. It may be another parasite but whatever it is, it looks like it is latching on and sucking my plant to death... Is there anything i can do, I sprayed with a scale killing insect spray and I tried to wipe the majorty off. BUT the actual base of the plant is beginning to wobble so i hope it isn't rotting within.I love this plant and I have had it and noticed the spike things since I bought it a year ago and its done ok until now I guess they are finally taking their toll.
