    Hi,

I walk past some small apple trees on my way to work that have a lot of small fruit starting to ripen on them, and I'm curious to know what kind of apples they are. The trees are only 2-2.5 m high, and quite bushy.

The apples are ~5 cm in diameter. I plucked one that was half red/half green, cored it and did a taste test. The skin is shiny smooth, the flesh is pulpy (not juicy), and it browned quickly. The taste is lightly sour, with not a hint of sweetness.

Attached are pics of the trees and the taster I plucked.

Any ideas? They look like they'll provide quite a harvest in the near future!

    Thanks,
    Roland

Thanks for the reference link, that could very well be it. I'll try another taste test mid-August when Harrod's says they should be ready for picking.
