I believe I have found Calocybe gambosa. According to the field guides it is a European species and it fruits in spring. I have found it on Oct 13, 2018 in Marlborough Forest, south of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. A specimen is collected. Any comments of specialists will be appreciated. Hi sepo, Great diagnostic photos and details thank you! I'm not the person to weigh in on this one, as I have not encountered Calocybe gambosa before. I have heard reports of it from Ontario before, so perhaps either it or a similar species occurs in North America. I don't see any records for NA thus far, although there are other C. species here. I hope you will let us know if you confirm ID for this? -frog
Hi frog, Thank you for your links. I will certainly let you know the identification if it will be done. I plan to submit the specimen to the Agriculture Canada collection. Serguei
