Identification: Calocybe gambosa in North America?

    Hi sepo,

    Great diagnostic photos and details thank you! I'm not the person to weigh in on this one, as I have not encountered Calocybe gambosa before. I have heard reports of it from Ontario before, so perhaps either it or a similar species occurs in North America. I don't see any records for NA thus far, although there are other C. species here.

    I notice that Lyophyllum connatum is on a list for your region, and although this is not a species with which I am familiar, there is at least some resemblance in the photos online.

    I hope you will let us know if you confirm ID for this?

    Thank you for your links. I will certainly let you know the identification if it will be done. I plan to submit the specimen to the Agriculture Canada collection.
