Cacao and Banana w/o ice cream

    We went to Cuba last year and among other things visited a cacao farm. A biology teacher was our local guide and interpreter. The farmer whacked open a pod for us (without losing any fingers) and encouraged us to slurp the sweet stuff off the seeds. Some of us did. Some of us also stashed said seeds in our baggage. Three of them germinated. The farmer said that they grow well with banana plants. Apparently they supply potassium. So I canvassed the local flower shops and found myself a banana plant.     Very nice Pinenut! Don't let that greedy banana shade them out. :) The cacao that I've grown were very susceptible to low humidity, do anything you can to keep it up high. Good luck with those!
