Acer shirasawanum 'Kawaii'

I have big hopes for this one. Decided to take it out the baby basket and see how it proform in the real world.

 

@LoverOfMaples, saw this one on Amazing maples. It grows into a beauty. I will be watching your updates closely D.

I'm here sadly saying RIP 'Kawaii'. If I would have known you weren't ready to leave the nest, I wouldn't have pushed you out. You will be replaced....... I promise.

 

So sorry to hear that D. Every year there are one or two casualties for all of us D. It is the nature of this hobby Im afraid.

 

Ok, this is my new 'Kawaii'. I will baby it for the next 3 to 4 years to make sure I keep it around for a while.

This was purchased and planted in October 2021. It is tiny and mostly green due to its location in the shade.
