All my acer palmatums appear to produce lots of seeds, even the dissectums, probably due to the unusual winter. I would like to collect their seeds this year. When is the best time to harvest the seed for Ontario (Zone 5 area)? In the past, the seeds seem to disappear when I get around to collect them. I don't want to collect them too early also. Thanks for your help.

When fully developed but not yet hard, brown and woody. Maple seed sown when still soft and green has been reported to germinate much more readily.
