    Chinese maple. Looks like palmatum but bigger leaves. Ssp of campbelli.

    Can be grafted on palmatum.

    Nice sturdy maple. The leaves are heavier and thicker than A. palmatum. I find that oliverianum holds up better to the wind than palmatum. Nice purple tinge in the sun as Andre picture's show.

    Here is a fall shot taken last week.

    Acer oliverianum - private collection. It is extremely late to leaf out, but it is a jewel. Two photographs taken in June 2002; one in July 2001; two in October 2001; and three in October 2005.
