Does anyone have any experience moving feijoas this time of year?

I'm working in a small 'food forest' garden and I want to relocate two feijoas that are crowded in the understory of larger fruit trees and shaded for most of the day. I know winter is best but I'm wondering what the risks are of doing it now-ish (within the next week or two)?

Feijoas are still dormant in Burnaby; so, it should still be a good time to transplant. I've relocated lots of young plants around this time.

Roneill, how do your plants look after the extreme cold at the start of the new year? Mine are losing most of their leaves, which turned brown; and I'm not sure how many plants have survived.
