run over cypress

  1. if a 5 ft cypress was run over, like flat against the ground, will there be any damage/will it survive?

  2. I dont know if your cypress was a Leland or not but 4 years ago I had a leland of similar size backed into. Once it was staked straight and the trunk at it's weakest point gently wrapped with potting soil and foil it appeared as tho it had experienced no trauma. It is now nearly 7 foot and the last two years since has experienced generous new growth. We only kept it staked for one growing season and we allowed the wrap to just come off on its own. We did not know anyone with any such experience, we just "winged" it and we are happy with the results. I hope this helps.
