Monkey Tree forest...

  1. My question is about Monkey Puzzle Trees. I've got a total of four trees, the two biggest are planted about 16' apart, and the other about 12'. The biggest one is about 12' in height, then 8',6' & 6'. I was thinking about keeping the two biggest ones(16' apart), and removing the other two. My question is how close is too close, and am I going to be OK with them spaced 16' as they mature. They have all grown from very small trees in their present location and appear very healthy. Any comments welcome...

I have seen some mature trees and when they are about 50 feet tall their spread is near 30 feet or so. To keep the trees near one another without touching at maturity you would need to keep them about 30 feet apart.
