I managed to get 4 good size Luffa's off my plant this year and need some help in the drying process. I know the best way to dry them is on the vine outside but this was not possible in my area. I have read 2 different things ( some say in the light some say in the dark) and I was wondering if anyone here has had success in drying them when they were picked green.

One year I left them on the vine and they dried reasonably well with some stains, but were partially dry when the season ended.

Last year there were 17 beauties and they rotted instead of drying. I don't think anything can be done with green luffa.

This year there are about 10 on my vines and only one is dry. The others will probably have to be discarded. All are still on the vine.

Thanks for the comeback. I have put 2 in the dark cool place and left 2 in the sunroom so I guess all I can do is hope for the best. Thanks again.
