Who knew that a mere two inches of extremely heavy Cascade Concrete could do such quick damage? This little Daphne odora "Aureo-Marginata" had been a pretty happy camper in the semi-shade of an A.j. "Aconitifolium" until this morning. And to think, we were supposed to get about 6 inches from this storm.

So does anyone believe I could bind this split together with duct tape or that green tape they use at the nursery and have any kind of success or should I just get it over with and chop the split off?

Absolutely, bind it together. It should work. If it didn't you can always prune it later.
