calatheas are maranthas, I just learned about the name of that movement the movement is called nyctonastic movement, when they move, when you touch them like the "Mimosa Pubica" plant the movement is called Seismonastic Movement

    Not quite.
There is a genus called Calathea. These tend to be taller and more difficult to care for. Best suited to a terrarium in the U.K.

and there is a genus called Maranta, which rarely exceed 8" and are much easier to grow.

Both are in the same family...Marantaceae.

Interesting. I have seen this on Albizzia jullibrissin. From a quick search I see it is reported to be common in legumes. I think I have seen this on Acacia. I could not find a list of plants.

I think this is called nyctinastic movement. We are more familiar with it in flowers than leaves.

There are a few listed on this Science and Plants for Schools page.
I can't imagine what level school this page is for - I only understand about 10% of the words in what follows this intro. They must teach a lot more vocabulary in the UK schools.

As far as I know neither grammar nor vocabulary is/are taught in any BC public school. But that is inevitable: most of the high school teachers who have "taught" my children have themselves demonstrated almost complete ignorance of English grammar.
