Allium cousin?

    I feel like I ought to know this one. From the leaves, it looked like it was going to be an Allium, but the flowers that came were not the globe that we expected. The flowering stalk is about three feet (one meter) high.

    Looks like a Galtonia candicans, a summer flowering bulb from South Africa that is in the Family Hyacinthaceae.
