    Re: Douglas Fir The sap running down is the trees' method of healing itself. You mentioned a crevice. The tree could have been struck by lightning.

    Removing a cedar hedge?

    Cut it down, hire an excavator and pull it out. Replant the area with a better hedge option or leave the area open.
