I didn't have any luck with my plum trees, I think it must have been the dry summer we had :( Oh well, there is always next year.
That's a good idea, maybe next year because it's a bit late now for them to ship bareroot.

I went looking for small Emerald cedars but they have all sold out at this point. Some places might get some in again in September but probably...

I agree, they are best left natural looking. Maybe ask the "trouble maker" what they think should be planted there instead for esthetic purposes?...
Thanks, I did cut it and did a google search and it is in fact a Scleroderma bovista. I have NEVER seen these before in any garden I've had before.
You could go to the expense and trouble of putting down landscape fabric but most people don't bother because it's shaded and nothing will grow...
I just found these in my garden today and thought they were a bulb or something but a few people on another thread thought they were puff balls....
