Who's Eggs are These?

Can anyone identify the insect eggs in my photo? All I want to know is if they're friend or foe.
They are on the top side of the leaf (yes it's THAT plant) and very small; my quick calculation says there's almost 1,000 here.
No other signs of insects around.
I've pulled the leaf off the plant and will keep it in a mason jar with a perforated lid to see what emerges when/if the eggs hatch.

 

I wonder if that could be a slime mould.

Definitely eggs, not mold.

Probably some moth.
Gamma moth (Autographa gamma) for instance.
