I think Matt and Tim have the name wrong. I bought it from Esveld as 'Little Green Star' (no 's'), as you have it in the thread title. I just verified this was how Cor sold it.

Worth noting D, that's the autumn color, it's a regular green maple. Have to say the leaves look very large compared to what I've seen on mine. Fertilizer maybe?

I don't think I have a pic, mine has really been getting whacked in the spring frosts. Was afraid it was a goner last year, but it has good buds. I'll try to get a pic when it leafs out.

Thanks for starting the thread, it's a nice maple with the small curled leaves.

As I was looking online I saw it more with no ('s') and figured it was a mistake. Before I post the thread I was looking at the picture thinking, "those leaves look larger than I remember". Most plants I get do come with fertilizer in them. But i'll be keeping a close eye out.

E, I hope yours bounce back. How long have you had it?

Thanks D. I got mine in spring 2018, planted spring '20, then froze in 20 and 21. I cut quite a bit off, but it was a decent sized plant when it went into the ground, condition was marked as "good" and "good root" which means it was a strong plant. Curiously I noted "replacement" in the record, but I don't remember the 1st try, and there's no record of it either. I usually keep records for those I kill, too.

It really looked awful last year, all year long! Hopefully it will start to come around, often 3rd year in ground is a charm.

Hey, It's a mess! I'll go in a while and see if there are any green leaves on it, but the whole top was brown even a few weeks ago. I have watered it a few times this year, it will get some more this week I hope.

It's not a pretty picture, but here is 'Little Green Star' on 9 Aug 2022. It will probably live, but there's certainly not much to look at right now.

The leaves are around 2.5 cm across.

How is 'Mr. Sun' much different from 'Palmatifolium'?

Now that's a good question E. I've have yet to acquire 'Palmatifolium'. I will be trying to graft it soon.
