The weather has been waffling between spring and summer here, but they are all happy at the moment.

I spotted the Athyrium tucked down the back there! Which variety is it? I've been gradually collecting several of each for planting up in groups. I think they may be one of my favourite plants after maples.
Currently have Ghost, Ursula's red, Red Beauty, Okanum, Silver Falls, Metallicum, Vidalii and then a few Felix which I'll probably gift away.

It looks great ! It's a very hard maple to keep "healthy" until the end of the season : most of the time, it gets sunburnt (like Emery's) or gets brown spots.

Well, perhaps in a country where the sun shines 8 hours a day in summer, where the temperature doesn't pass 23°C and there's rain every day. Not here. It was 25°C again.

Since I've it in full shade, it's faring much better, but I can't show pictures of autumn colours without most of the leaves looking blotched or unhealthy. So I'm trying to keep it one of the most beautiful maples - in spring...

It's 22:20 here, the sun is down, so photos tomorrow. Maybe.

Wow I had no idea.. Thanks for the info an compliments. I really love it and felt like it was struggling when I first got it last summer. It has grown a fair bit since last summer see pics below.

Last year July. This year June.

In the first photo, I can see it it staked.

Mine has a somewhat weeping port, I thought it was because of where I placed it, but seeing how yours look now, I wonder how it looks when mature in full ground...

I left the stake in until this spring it came that way from the nursery. I think it typically mounds if not

I'm not sure of the variety. I planted a bunch a few years ago. I think they were only identified as Painted Lady.

No Orion in there. Maybe you were referring to my Baldsmith?

Nope 9th one down from your first group. It looks just like one I have that’s labelled Orion. I’ve read two different versions of what Orion looks like.

The wind is so strong here today that it's hard to take a photo, but I wanted to show a couple and especially Orion leaves for Lisa @Lisa Harry.

Hmmm I wonder what I got then it goes burgundy with green undertones in the summer then orange in fall. More maroon burgundy with more sun. Any ideas what it could be?

Here are a few pics of my “Orion” this morning any idea what else it could be. The picture doesn’t show it very well on the mature leaves but there is a burgundy overtone.

So I did a more careful search though my old plant tags. I never seem to throw anything out.

    They are GHOSTS.

The news has just said that we are going to have 30°c + this time next week, so before the reticulated varieties fry..... here are a few of my Ghosts and my Filigree.

Lovely, I think Ghost and Okanum may be my favourite of the Athyriums, then Silver Falls.
The red and purple named varieties, along with Pewter and Metallicum all seem to end up looking VERY similar unless you get the light conditions perfect to highlight the differences.
