All green now, but still very pretty. Comparing it to the first picture in this thread from last August, I can't believe how much it's grown and filled out already, and we're not even to the second flush of growth yet!

Once these things get going there's no stopping them , mines in the ground another two/three years and this should cover this area where i planted it

It seems to have settled into a cheerful sort of yellow for the summer, with green in the more shaded leaves and even some red patches on some of the leaves more exposed to the sun. This is a fun one all right!

Oooh, good question! The Orange Lace has far more immediate 'pop' right now, but Cascade Gold is tried and tested so it's still my favourite (plus that weeping habit is something else, I love this thing)

I've seen Cascade Ruby on eBay and was very intrigued, though I noticed the seller used the exact same flavour-text as for Cascade Gold...

I mean, I think the only solution is for someone to get a Cascade Ruby and we can compare + contrast, right? Right? (haha)

Ooooh this is interesting - so there IS a definite difference between the Gold and Ruby (how dangerous... the only reason I'd held off the Ruby is that I wasn't sure if it was an actual thing that differed from what I have... Please post more pics as they develop ahead of Christmas, @ROEBUK !!)

I've seen this one M, but IMO it's too much like Ryusen to justify buying it. But of course if you don't have Ryusen....!!! Lol

Indeed, "cascade ruby", "cascade gold", "cascade emerald" and "cascade citrine" are varieties resulting from a seedling of ryusei hybridized with orange dream.
Prefer a location in the shade or semi-shade.

Its the same old story produce a popular tree like Ryusen then try and re create the same flowing cultivar but with different spring colours i find Green ,Yellow, Gold, and Red are the four main colours but will nearly all look the same in the fall?? added a picture of the three in question.

I've only had mine for a couple of weeks now. Picture of it prior to repotting. Missed the spring colours unfortunately but if it matures into anything like the ones on this thread I'll be very happy. Definitely a cultivar that stands out!
