Another 'Firecracker', a bit older, in Fall colors (picture taken 1 week ago)
This cultivar takes full sun all day in my area quite well.

Very nice!! Think I might have to see if I can find this one state-side. How would you compare it to Red Dragon for sun tolerance and ability to keep the red through a hot summer?

Does anyone know if this plant is on US soil yet?

I think that color stability is a similar, different is colour. My red dragon has red color with little tint/shade orange. Firecracker - red with "burgundy tones".
But i not live in US (KS). I live in Europe, here are average temperature of year +8,1°C /+46,6°F...

Bringing this thread into 2021! Fairly dark summer foliage on Firecracker, looking forward to seeing how it colours up as we go into Autumn:

"firecracker" planted this fall, despite appearances it is not a tree on stem! the graft is very low.
it is exposed to full sun!
I hope he will like it.

The large dissected red leaves should cope with full sun very well Romain.

Firecracker has some of the darkest foliage in my garden, almost purple rather than red. Its branches want to be quite weeping but I'm not having any of it until it gets a bit taller, so it's quite liberally staked at the moment:

An oldie and a goodie. One of the reds that really looks on fire in the Autumn. Your neighbours are going to have a lovely show in the coming years Xi.
