It's been a long week with lots of late nights at work, but the long Easter weekend is here, there's sun, clear blue skies, and I'm making the most of every glorious second!

Thanks Lisa -- the grow bags are working pretty well as far as I can tell: I didn't add any extra protection over winter and all the trees made it through unscathed, so that's a good sign! I'm aware that the water drains much more quickly than in plastic/wooden pots - which is the idea, so I can't complain - so it means I need to do more manual watering in warm weather since if I leave them for a day they're all bone-dry, but if you've got the time to dedicate to daily watering then I'd certainly recommend them!

I do hope they are OK. Some quite bad frost damage on Yellow cascade. Bling bling also has suffered. So I wish you good luck @Worldly_Wrangler. Do keep us all updated.

    Lucky man... ;0)

Joking apart, I sometimes wonder what the heck was on their mind when they chose the name.

PS : OK, don't tell me.

I might not have it in near future if it doesn’t bounce back.

I got the ‘Bling Bling’ from Maple Ridge Nursery, though it’s not currently active on their website.

It's interesting to see how nominations evolved. From the poetic Japanese to "Bling bling"... $$$

Finally getting some cheerful action here in NY and got a new Dancing Peacock yesterday. I could sure use it. Re-injured one of my bad shoulders and now battling an enterovirus. Good times!!

Still enjoying this unusually pleasant weather: unheard-of for a UK bank holiday weekend!! I was struck by the sheer variety of colours in my garden this morning, so I tried to capture the whole range of what I'm seeing at the moment.

Amber Ghost, Autumn Moon, Bloodgood, Como:

And now that my Beni Shigitatsu Sawa is waking up, here are a couple of comparisons between Shigitatsu Sawa (pale/green) and Beni Shigitatsu Sawa (red/pink):

Some of these trees I didn’t have in spring last year and I am floored by their spring beauty. Had to share with those who would appreciate them, please excuse the neighbours shanty, my less than tidy yard (scheduled to work on Saturday)and some repotting that is needed.

Like everything in life, maples welcome the diversity that makes them beautiful, otherwise it's just being "monomaniac". The Wisteria is beginning to flower...

It's the first time I've ever heard of it... ^^

Anyway, young dogs like to chew on anything, but they tend to prefer plastic that is at their reach, not plants or beans. Unless your dog is a cross between a dog and a beaver... ;-)

Seriously now, where did you get that info from ?

This one I bought without a label, so I just call it 'Atropurpureum dissectum'. The red colour is so vivid this year...
