And it survived the frosts. Well done you.

Thank you - I was so worried about some of the 'big boys' I couldn't move into shelter but - touch wood - it seems to have weathered things despite the cold snap during the leafing-out phase. Let's hope the weather improves for all of us going into next week!

Koto no Ito now filling out. It is, bar none, the bigget aphid-magnet in my garden so I've given it a good spray and hopefully that'll keep the little blighters away for a few weeks:

    No problem D.
Fairy Hair is a shade lighter, finer and a bit more curled, well it is at the moment.
Koto is more weeping with slightly larger leafs.

And of course they go a different colour in autumn, Koto goes yellow, FH goes red/orange.

My Koto is having a major growth spurt this year and putting out some enormously long leaves.

Put mine back in the ground eighteen months ago and it's flourishing now.

Koto no Ito looking quite happy at the moment. A subtle touch of colour at the tips of each branch.

The thin strappy leaves are special, of course, but I'm really enjoying the hints of colour of the thicker new growth at the tips:

It rained all night, and there were hundreds of raindrops suspended in Koto no Ito's fine leaves this morning. Try as I might, I couldn't capture them in a picture to do them justice...

Wow, that must have been difficult. Do you have a greenhouse at the new place?

    20221020_155644_v1.jpg

Here's mine last year, haven't had a chance to look this autumn, but it had a lot of good seed on it this earlier. It lost a couple of limbs from last year's drought, but largely OK.
