I've only had Cascade Gold for a few weeks, but am really enjoying it so far. It's a high graft which will hopefully produce some stunning foliage as the branches grow.

Photos taken roughly two weeks apart (late July vs early August), showing a rapid colour transition from yellow to partial reds on some leaves:

More Cascade Gold, showing a different angle. I really have fun with this one - can't wait to see where it is a year from now after some more growth.

Coming into autumn now. There are still a lot of greenish leaves on the underlayers, while the leaves more exposed to the sun have that Orange Dream-y colouring still:

Some more autumn colour. I'm still interested to see those bright green leaves on the more shaded areas still completely unaffected by the season, so I took a close-up of the contrast:

More 'Cascade Red' than Cascade Gold now - the colour changed all at once:

A good strong early shower this spring: lovely orange leaves as they emerge in March:

Thanks D, I'm so impressed by those bright orange colours so far this year. I can't wait to see what it does next!

More Cascade Gold spam, because it's my favourite right now. Thought I'd add pictures of the full tree as well as close-ups of the spring foliage:

Haha, that's the plan D! I'm hoping I can tempt some other members with this cultivar so the spam isn't all coming from me, though!

The more I see the photos of this cultivar, the more I think this is a cascading form of Orange Dream. Is it a cross Xi @Xi-feng ?

Bingo -- got it in one!! It's a cross between Orange Dream and Ryusen, so they say: its colour is far stronger and brighter than my 'proper' (aka rather anemic and always-struggling) Orange Dream, and it's loving the position I have it in where my Orange Dream refused to gain any colour and then promptly fried in the same spot last year. I really think it's got all the best traits of both parents: that bright orange colour from OD, plus the weeping habit (and apparently far hardier than OD!) from Ryusen. Can't say a bad word about it so far!

Mwahaha, excellent, excellent. Just wait until I have time to take the next batch of pictures: those leaves are spreading out now and coming into their full, proper shape and it looks so pretty, I just stop and stare every time I step out of my door! If those don't tempt you guys into getting one, nothing will!

We're moving from orange to more yellow now as the leaves mature and fill out: it's really living up to the 'cascade' name now:

I'm impressed with the speed of growth now, compared with the first photo in this thread from late July those weeping branches are much longer (and much more fully-leafed! Hopefully it's enjoying its spot in the garden and is responding to let me know it)

Cascade Gold now turning green rather than that strong yellow-gold spring colour. Early April is definitely its best season!

The Ryusen is coming through now Xi. Gosh, you have the best of both worlds with this maple.

It is, and I'm loving it. I know I haven't had this one a whole year yet, but I couldn't recommend it more. I hope we start getting more people posting this cultivar on the forum, but I will continue cheerleading until that time comes!
