Identification: "Kusamono"

    Hi everyone, salut tout le monde,

    I was given this plant by a "bonsai friend" who uses it as a companion plant for an Autumn display of his big bonsai, but he couldn't remember where it got it from and what it's called.

    The leaves are green but take these beautiful colours in Autumn. The plant is hardy here (USDA zone 8-9).

    Intriguing. I wonder if it is some sort of saxifrage. I've been looking through some obscure Mukdenia, but nothing quite right so far.

    From other suggestions on other forums, it seems to be a good guess. I searched for pics of various saxifrages on the web, couldn't find one that really matched the one I have, but It could be.

    It's never flowered so far, flowers are the best way to identify a species.

    Final ID : my friend found back the tag, it's Mukdenia rossii 'Crimson Fans'.
