Hi! We are on Vancouver Island and we planted a micro clover lawn, mainly because we have a dog and wanted to avoid the burning fo the lawn. It started beautifully but now there're patches where it is dying. Cant figure out what causes it. Any ideas? We have quite a few of those and they seem to appear overnight. We have dug some of them, applied new topsoil and seeds but it keeps happening. Thinking of scrapping the whole idea and put rocks instead lol thanks for any advice.

Do you have a photo that shows these bare patches in the overall context of your lawn ?

Hi! It is a small lawn and we have already taken out the dead clover and replanted (dark patches) but it is still happening and spreading, I hope the pix can show you.

Ok - so it’s not the beastly raccoons digging for grubs ?

I suppose one approach is if you have an X-Pen to enclose a corner of your lawn for a dedicated puppy potty zone - see if that makes a difference to the mysterious « crop circles »

The reason we chose to replace our lawn by micro clover is that everyone says the dogs do not affect it...they use it in doggie daycares...for that reason...anyone else has experience with a clover lawn and dogs? Read to pull it and replace it with rocks...

I've moved this to its own thread. What's your watering regime like?
