Mine has been struggling with our weird Spring weather so far, and the older leaves quickly turned dark, dull and crispy... but over the last week, that new growth is just popping right back:

So many stories like this over the past few weeks. I have the same problems with a few of mine and they are a little way behind your recovery. But London has that warmth that we in the shires don't. Lovely to see your Peaches and cream bouncing back Xi.

It's weird, I have two P&Cs and I only ever take pictures of this one because the other is... well, dull. It's putting out new growth in a very drab green, despite being in the same position and having the same conditions as this one. I think sometimes they just have an 'off' year, don't they?

Yes they do Xi and thats when patience comes into the frame of this hobby. I do hear of people just throwing maples out because they haven't performed one year. It's so sad, but perhaps indicative of the throw away society we now find ourselves in.
Well done you for sticking with Peaches and cream no 2.

9th June 2021 and after all the frosts and now the heat, my Peaches and cream is struggling. So I thought I would add it here today and post updates on how it goes.

I've mentioned my dull boy before: here's my 'flashy' P&C, along with the 'dull' one that, for the first time this year, is showing the tiniest hint of new growth colour. Funny how two trees of the same type, same age, from the same seller, growing in the same spot in the garden can be so different:

Seeing this all too often these days Xi. I wonder if they used the same rootstock for both !!??

Huh! That's something I hadn't even considered -- would that make a difference? I guess it would, wouldn't it? I don't recall such a big difference last year, though granted they were both quite a bit smaller back then. It'll be interesting to see if the dull boy is dull again next year, or if he's just having an off-season right now? Will wait and see!

Clearly the dull boy heard me throwing shade at him last week: he has exploded in massive colour with new growth this week. Just goes to show, sometimes they're holding back and then go all-out!
