Spotted this in nursery on the weekend..it’s a new one on me..I was strong and didn’t bring it home... I am unsure if it’s common elsewhere.

Interesting, from seeing a young plant it looks like a 'Sieryu' in leaf form and growth habit with a more interesting spring colour. I couldn't find much with a quick search but there is a naff shopping video on this page featuring the tree:

Edit: broken link to QVC removed

I think it would have left the shop with me if I had seen it....

Very Interesting leaf shape, and not as finely dissected as sieryu, I probably would have come away with one i but they were only large 4/5foot trees and I had already had the Higasa Yama in the trolley..my son was telling me off as it was..you don’t need anymore lol

Yes it could be, but I think everyone on this forum realises that with so many cultivars out there now and the only way to tell the difference is with the name tag, that similarities are now going to be a regular occurrence.
So do we go out and buy just because it has a different name ?? IMO it's time to say NO. That sounded so strong and I'm one of the worst culprits for saying YES. Lol.

The leaf form is quite different to Orangeola, Orangeola is a lot more dissected.

These leaves look fairly dissected as well, but you're right, on closer inspection not to the same extent as orangeola.

From what I saw this one looks different enough from others to warrant adding to a collection..
