Hi, does anybody know what became of the Japanese language maple website I knew as "Nippon no momiji"? It has disappeared from its original url and I can't seem to find it with google. Despite being difficult to navigate as the buttons didn't often translate when converted to English, it was my favourite online JM resource and had great spring/summer/autumn ID shots, interesting descriptions and also culture and propogation info. (Better than Yano's website). It used to be linked in the maple resources page but I think was removed due to dead link. Not speaking Japanese I don't even know if "Nippon no momiji" was the proper name for the site.

This is a longshot, I know, but can't think of anywhere better to ask.

I've searched also, but cannot find anything with that title.
The only thing on resources page on translation can be found here.

The first Japanese to English Dictionary

Hope this might be of help.

I suppose you have the original URL : can you post it so we can try to find out if it's archived somewhere ?

Thanks guys, this is a copy of the link to the page for 'Amagi shigure' I posted once. I don't have a link to the homepage any longer, (in fact most of my acer bookmarks seem to have disappeared) but it should be easy to work out from this:

    https: // www .e-momiji.com/~e-momiji/amagishigure/amagishigure.htm

http: // www .e-momiji.com seems to just take you to a spam website in Japanese so I guess the original person no longer owns the domain.

    Thanks @maf

A site that is still online (and it's a very old website, in the days of html and frames) :

    Maples & Japanese Culture

It's really worth keeping in your bookmarks...

Yes, that used to be in my bookmarks too! Brilliant site, I especially like the page on Gigantic & Noted Maple trees in Japan featuring various centuries old specimens such as this one:

Hello, it is with great sadness I can report that it appears the maple collector and creator of the website "Nippon no Momiji" passed away around 2016. @eteinindia was kind enough to do some research and pass on the following information:

It is equally sad that the website was not kept in a tribute to the maple collector. That would have been so nice.
Thankyou to you M and Mariko @eteinindia for updating us all.

Thanks very much, a quick look and I know that will provide plenty of reading and viewing pleasure. While it is great that the blog is preserved it is a shame that the main site could not have been likewise.
