20th September 2020 and new growth plus some strange colouring on my maples now. Flavescens is showing signs of a bit of wear and tear now. But I think it's OK.

October 6th 2020 and very wet, but with early morning sunshine it is making my maples look rather pretty IMO. My Flavescens is showing all its colours now. And it only gets better until they drop.

12th October 2020 and I will let the photos of my Flavescens speak for themselves.

19th October 2020 and my Flavescens is one of the dissectums that turns earlier than others in my garden. I really love this cultivar!!!

I have a young one from a garden center. It's its second Autumn, and I was wondering why it is called "flavescens" (from latin, blond, fair). Mine has, so far, rather uninteresting colours. I hope next year it will look more like yours...

@AlainK good evening Alain, mine is in the ground since September 2019 and that has made all the difference tbh. I found it quite uninspiring whilst in a pot. My soil is high clay with lots of nutrients that this brings and although not the best soil for maples, I find that the dissected varieties do well in it.

Yes, soil probably makes the difference, but the soil in my garden is very calcareous, so the mix in a pot is much more acidic. I'll repot it next spring and we'll see...

15th April 2021 and my first posting for this season of my Flavescens. Now this has gone through a week of overnight frosts, but with twice a day spraying with rain water, it's doing really well.

2nd May 2021 and my Flavescens has open up to produce the most gorgeous chartreuse greens. There are no camera tricks, just pure wonderful greens.

This one is a must D. The photo doesn't do it justice either.

I have a small one, I don't find it so special compared to other dissectums. Actually, I find it a bit disappointing, a simple 'Viridis' looks better to me.

In the green dissectum series, my favourite ones are 'Seiryu' and 'Emerald Lace'.

I find the green dissectum varieties are different at so many different times of the day, that to have a favourite is really difficult. But tbh I like the fact that we all have our own favourites. It would be a bit boring if we all had the same one.

    You've got a point there... ;-)

And as I often said, depending on the conditions a tree is grown, it can show rather different features, more or less appealing to the local viewer...

9th May 2022 and after some talk on the Spring maples 2022 thread, I thought I would show how my Flavesecens looks today. As can be seen by previous years photos, this is how it should look.
