Of course J. This is something I have done for quite some years now when Spring frosts strike. It was reccomended to me by an old friend who did this to protect his maples from frosts.
I carry this out at night and first thing in the morning when a frost is forecast.
Do have a look at this recent article.
    https://www.thelocal.it/20210409/in...e-freezing-fruit-trees-to-protect-from-frost/

I have found it does give my maples protection, as the leaves do not become dehydrated from the frosts.
It is around 80% effective and tbh this year around 97% for my trees. Others have had severe damage near me, I have not. I have also received messages from others who have tried this method with a lot of success.
I do use collected rainwater btw and not tap water that is full of chemicals.
Hope this has helped a little in the understanding.

Thank you, it’s good to learn from others and share knowledge. I will try this in future.

I do believe in trial and error as well as science. Sometimes it's very much a mix and match scenario.
Let me know how you get on with this method J, although I think it maybe next year for you to try now in sunny Fareham.

Very nice R, but were you a bit shy at the time, as I can't see you?

OMG, what a shame. And the last time the maples hadn't leafed out. Luck is not with you R. But tbh, is it for anyone over the last year!!

More fab pics @dangerine49 ! Hoping for even more!

I trust, if I don't hear differently from you, it will be OK to snag some for the new MS web site. Having people on the site makes it look more welcoming! There will be no individual ID, of course.
