I don’t think many people have this one so I thought I’d show mine.

The autumn colour is out of this world, as is often with the greens, but this, along with Hogyoku are in a class of their own.

Not one to be left out.. Hogyoku itself.

Not as old or impressive (yet) as it’s competitor, but still very much loved in my garden.

Brandt’s Dwarf not often mentioned, but when nestled up against Jordan it doesn’t half look decent to me ;-)

And competitor, I believe you are referring to M @ROEBUK ?
If so, we will catch him up, in a 'decade' or so, lol.
Yours is looking an excellent open structure Luke. You are well on your way with that one.

I haven’t decided yet. At the minute they are stopping it from looking too too heavy and give it an almost layered look. One of them is also being used as an anchor to pull one of the upper branches down that was ‘crossing’

Always worth posting Luke. A rather a nice forest of maples. I do love them close together like that. The colours all blend.

So that path is now out of bounds to your landlady !!? Lol.

They will be moved to the front garden in a few weeks where they’ll get dappled shade throughout the day. Just get some sun on them to get them going.

I also use stones, bits of wood etc. To help separate branches of I think they need it. Works for me ;-)

Do keep a check on chafing though. Especially in windy conditions. Disease can get in behind a stone on an open wound etc.

Wine bottle corks are good too for small trees : you can cut them out v-shaped at each end and they don't harm the wood.

Just seen Acer palmatum ' Nebula ' on Mr Maple. I saw that D @LoverOfMaples mention he had one this morning. Do have a look everyone if you get a chance. I also hope D posts some photos of it soon, so that it is logged on the forum.

Over there again I'm afraid Luke @Luke’s Maples. That's a long shopping trip ,lol.

I think it is a great little tree. I especially love how it is like a natural bonsai even though it is a strong grower. I do hope mine gets to be taller instead of wider but we will see. Enjoy yours, it looks great!
