Spring green is the very best of green IMO, but I think we both agree there I.
Look forward to seeing your photos of your dissectums very soon.

I noticed a couple of random seedlings popped up near my back door. Any idea what they might be?

Here are a few of mine that held back nicely during the frosts. Very sensible maples.
Jerre Schwartz, Acer palmatum, Satsuki Beni and Kinran.

If you lived in France, I'd say sycamore.

Interesting since the original street trees in my neighborhood were mostly sycamores. They've been dying off (I had two that died and removed from my property) but there are a few left nearby.

A very cold start to my day here in Southern England. So spraying yet again at 0530hrs. But the light was also good enough for some early, but wet photos.

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven’t been on here for a little while. I almost feel guilty for not commenting and liking all the wonderful pics and comments that have been posted. I’ve had a very busy last few days but I’m off today so I’m going to spend it pottering around the gardens admiring my beautiful trees.

I hope I don’t disappoint with the choices of pics and of which cultivars to choose from. I have too many to post pics of them all, so I’ll just do a couple of the ones that really stand out for me right now.

    Summer Gold
    Aka Shigitatsu Sawa
    Aureum
    Grandma Ghost
    Mikawa Yatsubusa
    Mikazuki x 2
    Tsuri Nishiki with flowers
    Peaches and Cream x 2
    Shishigashira
    Baby Ghost
    First Ghost x 2
    Amagi Shigure x 2
    Shigitatsu Sawa x2
    Filigree

I really hope you all like pics. I actually really enjoyed taking them.

    I think it’s 20 pics max per post, so I’ll do part 2 in a minute ;-)

Looks like A. saccharinum, Silver Maple.

Well I though I'd let the potted maples that I've been schlubbing in and out reward us with a few pictures. Mostly dissectums in pots at the mo. Just snaps really.

These are 'Crippsii', 'Lemon Chiffon', 'Otto's Dissectum', 'Bewley's Red', 'Baldsmith', 'Vic Pink', selected strapleaf seedling, 'Brocade', A. pictum 'Kawasaka nishiki', an unusual red seedling from A. pauciflorum in year 2, 'Flavescens', 'Garnet Tower', 'Black lace', 'Umegae', and the spectacular A. divergens.

It looks like it's been classed as vulnerable now, as it only occurs in "1 or 2 locations" in valleys where dams are planned... Thanks for the head's up on divergens, I wasn't aware of that. It certainly is desperately rare in cultivation in spite of it's spring beauty. This one is a graft on cappadocicum (predictably enough) but the understock had been badly damaged mechanically. It does seem to be healing well, and I have medium confidence that it will live. This is the second year here.

I have a seedling sold by a self-professed French "expert", but it is very obviously platanoides. Can't decide whether to plant it somewhere or just chuck it, tbh.

Your welcome E, as you said earlier today, retirement allows for reading of lists like this, lol.

That actually was my first guess since there are two nearby. One is in my backyard and the other is in my neighbor's yard.

Good morning, well after another frautfull night of spraying, I thought I would wait until the sun warmed my maples before taking photos.
I did enjoy seeing my Going Green with flowers, so this is my first photo, followed by Trompenburg, Ukigumo and Red Pygmy.

    Hello.
I hope that you are well.
I return to the forum after a period of inactivity. Many things have happened, some very bad, but hey, there are always the maples.
They are growing very well. I do not have current photos, but I do have a video. Hope you like.
    Regards from Mallorca, Spain.

Good afternoon Monica, they are beautiful. But more importantly, I hope all is well with you. The first paragraph in your post didn't sound as if you have had a very nice time recently.
It is great to see you back again though and I hope your maples and the ones on the forum will cheer you up.

Looks like they're enjoying the sunshine M. Hasn't done them any harm at all being inside. Now it's time to grow......hopefully.
