@AlainK Spring has arrived in beautiful colour. I just spent the first afternoon in my garden with family for 12 months. A good day followed by lovely photos from Orleans. Not bad at all!!

So far ahead of mine G, looking like it's going to be a good season for you if those photos are anything to go by.

It is a lovely start to the day here in Southern England, but not going to last, as cloud cover is on the way, so I took some photos early and I thought my Katsura was looking good enough to share. It's around 12ft tall, so ideal for looking through towards the blue sky.

This sango Kaku refuses to go red like the other two, but I think it’s a nice shape..and much further ahead..the other two you can see are only just busting out

What a difference positioning makes in a garden and we wonder why when people post photos from other continents of their trees that we are not sure if they are the same cultivar we have in our own garden. Maples never cease to amaze.
I know this is a maples forum, but your Hellebore in photo 2 is a Wow. Excellent photography R.

The morning after the night from h***.... And here are a few that escaped, I hope!!
As can be seen they are not out, hence the survival of the leaves yet to come. This was mentioned last night by R @dicky5ash.

    We have leaves!!

Only on four trees so far, but it looks like they'll all have them by the weekend.

P.S. I edited this post and had some technical difficulties and wound up adding me and Maggie by mistake. It was the first time I could see her and hold her without a mask. Nice!

I’m not sure how you guys are adding pictures directly in the thread without having to add them as attachments, which might be considered sad since I’m (presumably) one of the younger people on the board :p (I’m 25). Anywho, here are some of my friends currently:

    Acer davidii/Acer triflorum/A.p. ‘Mikawa Yatsubusa’/A.p. ‘Milky Way’/ A.p. ‘Aka Shigitasusawa’/ A.j. ‘Vitifolium’/ A.j. ‘Aconitifolium’/ A.p. ‘Aka Shigitatsusawa’/ A.p. Seedling/ A.p. Seedling on left, A.j. Seedling on right/ A. diabolicum seedlings/ A. fansipanense

Good morning Kyle, if you upload the photos you should then see them as thumbnails, you then click on upload thumbnails and they go straight into your posting.
Have a look at this link, it should help, if you are still unsure.

I'm so pleased to see the younger generation on this forum. I have written a thread on the Maple Society section on age diversity and it is people like yourself Kyle that we need more of to help continue the future of this great pastime.
Looking at your trees I see you are still keeping them very well protected. When can you bring them outside in Tennessee?
I like your Milky Way, heard a lot about it but not seen many around.

I’ve seen your post, and I agree, D. Generally speaking, I think people my age and younger view a hobby like ours as very “passive”, if you will. It doesn’t have the stimulation they want, at face value. Of course, you and I and all our friends on here know this hobby can be as active/stimulating as you want it to be, but most young people aren’t going to do the research to find this out. This isn’t a pat on my back, either. I just happened to grow up in an incredibly rural area surrounded by family members who enjoyed many different plants for many different reasons.

actually D, my plants are outside. The railing on my back deck may make it look as though they aren’t. The ‘Milky Way’ is slightly underwhelming currently, but I think that’ll change in the coming weeks.

I am so pleased that you put it this way Kyle, tbh an oldie like me cannot speak for younger members of the MS or for younger UBC maple forum members, as I don't think the same way anymore. So for you and others who are below a certain age.... lol, your input is very important.
Regarding the protection of your maples, it was my mistake in thinking they are inside. They all do look in good health, so you are doing everything right. Keep it going.
Looking forward to you posting the Milky Way over the next few months, it's always fun to see a maple not often shown on the forum.

Not an early Spring for this one..

Next two are Vitifolium..taken today..seems a slow grower for me..had this tree for 3 years was 75cm upon purchase, has filled out wider nicely but not much taller.

Last 2 are J. Attaryi taken today
