A friend from Poland with whom I exchanged seeds wrote me that he got several packets of seeds from the Rogow arboretum in Poland. Among them, Acer tataricum ssp. tataricum var. torminaloides

I can't find any info on this ssp./var. Has anyone any links/photos about it?...

EDIT : I stupidly followed links "corrected" by google. Finally found a few links, like on J-L Hélardot's (excellent) website. I should have read further down the page :
    Acer tataricum

Acer tataricum var torminaloides is a synonym of Acer tataricum.

It is listed in MOW, which is no doubt where Hélardot gets his info from.

However, theplantlist.org, which contains more recent research than MOW, is now the accepted resource for this particular name, and correctly lists it as a synonym: Acer tataricum var. torminaloides Pax — The Plant List

That's what I said in the first sentence: it's a synonym. Sorry, the second sentence is unclear apparently, I will edit.

I have no record of such a cultivar listed anywhere. Do you Michael?

Probably just an error in the title, in the text even Alex refers to it as "var of tartaricum."

@Michael F the Maple Society will very shorty be publishing the Synonym List of Maples, I'm sure you will be as interested as I! Final approach in progress, it's a major piece of work.

I'll still not be happy with it until they reverse the ridiculous lumping of Acer ginnala into Acer tataricum ;-)
