I need help. I trimmed my yucca of all the spines that were dead. It looks as though it still has life left in it. I am worried about the one stem that has blackened, and is mushy. Can I just saw it off? The trunk does not appear to be soft or mushy it’s just the one stem that had the hanging dead spines before I peeled them off. The picture shows how it looks. Will this plant survive? Note: it has never been outside only indoors.

Yes, I would take off the soft mushy stem right away. Hopefully the other three will thrive.
