Good morning D, strong branching on your Coral pink and what a lovely location you are in. Can see what drew you to moving there, 'very pretty scenery'.

Tail end of a hurricane later today in the South of England, so took these before the leaves fly away. My Johin is still holding onto Summer, so thought I would show it anyway.
    Bare bones expected tomorrow!!!! Lol.

Morning D, thanks. It a pretty relaxing and scenic spot year round. Fall is amazing here in the Northeast. Coral Pink, I wasn't sure about it the first couple years I had it. But it came around nicely.

Well the storm decimated my trees yesterday, only a few left with leaves when I inspected them a few minutes ago. So here only is my Green dissectum, Emerald lace and Dr Brown showing some colours.

    Hi everxbody,
I wanted to post some fotos of my garden with fall colours: some of my maples have only begun to change, though.
    IMG-20201019-WA0000.jpg IMG-20201020-WA0000.jpg IMG-20201019-WA0008.jpg

In comparison the trees on and behind the hill in September:
    20200914_093655.jpg

I planted the 3 maples at the right side of the hill in August: the yellow one is Summergold. the dark red one is Fireglow and the one up on the hill between the 2 former ones is Nicholsonii.
The big red one behind the hill is october Glory, it is about 20 years old.

    20201019_133149.jpg 20201019_133417.jpg

Summergold, right in front of it is a small Osakazuki, which happened to be there before I planted Summergold, but it will move somewhere else next year. And October Glory up close. The next 2 pictures are especially for @Acerholic, my litte Mr. Sun, which has lost its leaves some days ago. 20201008_110949.jpg 20201008_110954.jpg

20201020_125555.jpg These are my newly planted maples in the front of our garden. Next to the chicken coop Beni Otake, then Autumn Moon, Tsuma gaki (which hasn`t changed yet) Moonrise, Butterfly and Atropurpureum, which isn`t as bright as Acerholic`s.
20201022_090756.jpg On the left Shirazz, for which I do not have a final location and Beni Otake and Autumn Moon

20201022_090955.jpg 20201022_090948.jpg Shin Deshojo and Hana Matoi also have no final destination yet

Jordan and Mikawa are a bit behind concerning fall colours, but they change fast now, I will post updates

@sun good morning A, the hard work is paying off now and it will get better and better as the years go on. Your garden is looking wonderful and the contrasts from correct placing is amazing.

My new Mr Sun has lost all it's leaves, so yours is still doing very well. Great colouring !!!

@Acerholic, thank you D, I am so happy that they are all doing well and the hedge is planted as well. At the moment I only seem to go into the garden to shoot some quick fotos as I do not have time, but they get along very well without my care. I will prepare a good place for my potted ones, though... I will write again eventually, in the meantime, bye and take care of your health...

@sun yes it's going to be a difficult Winter for us all it seems, but we have our gardens and photos of our maples to keep us happy until Spring.
All of yours were a very pleasant distraction indeed this morning.

    Do take care yourself.

No flaming colours (yet) unfortunately but most trees are changing now. My Shishigashira has 2 red leaves within a sea of green so I am hopefull it will look awesome in a few weeks or so. Photo’s are of Watnong, Sensu, Shishigashira 2 x, Fairy light, Pixie and Filigree.

Two other potted trees, Oct. 16th. Today the first one (A.p. palm.) is still green, the second one (air-layer from a tree grown from seeds collected on A.p. dissectum) has even better colours, but it's been pouring since mid-afternoon and it's dark now :

I hadn't realized until reading posts on this forum that the colour of maple leaves can vary so much throughout the year and from year to year as well.

The first photo is my 'Seiryu' exactly one year ago and the second, today. The temperature dipped below freezing for the first time last night so I expect the tree will soon be making up for lost time in the colour department. I can hardly wait!

Awesome are Acer palmatum obtained from seeds, and so faithful to coloring each autumn.
    Thoses are 10 yard old.
    One amoenum/matsumurae 10 years too.

Today it's the calm after the storm, but everything is saturated. The good thing though was it brought out the colours of the few leaves I have left.

'Beni otake', losing leaves faster than gaining color.

Here is a new one, Acer sieboldianum 'Katsura gisan'. First taken on the 22 Oct, then again on the 24th. I had to move it into the woodshed, all of the wind it kept blowing over. Amazing how fast the turn is this year.
