    Good Morning.

It is a joy to know that the rains are returning.

In Mallorca what we call '' second spring '' has returned, but the rains are still quite scarce in much of the island. In my area for example we have had a week of summer, more than spring haha Temperatures that exceed 30ºC, humidity above 60% ... Luckily, the wind starts to blow a little and it is cool.

    Happy Saturday!

I can hear the heavy rain pounding. So good to hear that music at last.

Here, it's a blessing. Further south, the soil in the low mountains is so dry that there are floods, brooks becoming rivers, out of control streams, floods.

I can hear the thunder in the distance. So far, no hail here.

It's as if what we expected and didn't have in late June came in mid-September.

Time to batten down the hatches here by all accounts

“BRITAIN'S 27C Indian Summer will be blown away by a 65mph 800-mile wide storm and a “polar plume” threatening one of England's earliest snowfalls for a century”

    Blimey!

Well, actually, having spent my early chilhood in Massif Central where we would have about two months of snow in the winter in the late fifties early sixties, I miss the snow so much...

I already posted this song I think, but that's how I feel seasons should be :

As if there was a sort of rythm in the seasons, a kind of logics. It reminds me of my childhood, a different language, a different place, a different culture, but so close somehow.

Well it's that time of the year again with the Autumn Equinox at 1430hrs today for the northern hemisphere. But like everything in 2020 nothing will be normal and it will be 24°C and sunny here in Southern England.

Now that 2020 is in its last legs, we cling to high hopes for 2021.

The forecast here on the west coast of Canada coincides with what we expect from early Fall.

Trying to stay positive, I am glad to be able to turn off the irrigation system for the next 6 months or more.

@Margot good morning Margot. That is a perfect forecast for sure and as you say let's have high hopes for 2021 !!!
We have rain forecast here for tomorrow with cooler temperatures so am going to enjoy the last day of Summer, as I hope you and everyone else on the forum does also. My rain water tanks are just about empty, so the timing is also good !!!!!

Let's all look forward and enjoy the wonderful Autumnal show that is about to greet us all.

@Mani good morning Mani, an interesting and worrying article. Can I ask if you would put this on this forum also. Or I can do it for you ?

Please look at the post I just made, and move Red List discussion there. Thanks!

@Acerholic, it would be great if you could copy my post to the conservation forum, or anywhere else for that matter.

It's almost like a switch has been turned off from Summer to Autumn, cold wet weather coming today with a frost forecast for Friday morning. Oh how the trees will change now !!!

I don't know if anybody has watched Charlie's latest video. But it was quite a shock to see the sun blotted out by the smoke.

    Je suis Charlie !

At the moment, there is the trial of terrorists that assassinated journalists and cartoonists, and police officers in 2015. I live in a secular country where "blasphemy" doesn't apply to free-thinkers like me, and the majority of the population. Je suis Charlie.

On the lighter side, I still have comics that I bought for my kids, "Où est Charlie", "Where's Wally?"
