    Is it a good sign if these start to die off?

    I moved a seedling into it's own pot and i'm a bit worried as they have started to die after one day.

    @Mani, good evening Mani, these do drop off after a few days once the plants leaves start to appear and develop. One day is far too early IMO.
    How is the rest of the seedling looking?

    @Acerholic - will do! Is sphagnum moss ok around their roots? Just wondering if it will hold too much water for them?

    Maybe the same....just slight darkening of leaves on the tips......not a pretty sight as I got to them late, they were a friend's who had no use for them so donated them to me.

    @Mani, OK as you say not great, but they all look like that in the first season. It is a wait and see I'm afraid. Do give it a lot of protection over the next couple of days. Going to be very hot and they will definatly react.
    Good luck

    They look weak. Fertilizers that promotes the growth of roots are available here : if you find such product, I suggest you should use some.

    @AlainK Thanks!

    @Acerholic Do you know of such a fertiliser in the UK? Neither B&Q or Homebase appears to have anything like that.

    Have you heard of a company called Neudorff? They do something similar to the Maxicrop product and is available immediately at a nursery near me. Otherwise i'll have to wait for Maxicrop.

    @Mani, yes I have Mani, not any difference IMO. It's just that my friends use Maxicrop and reccomend it.

    @Acerholic Thanks! If a seedling loses all of it's leaves does that mean it is curtains for it?

    @Mani, IMO yes I'm afraid. I have never managed to save a seedling that has dropped all it's leaves. Have yours done this?

    Thank you!

    I guess this is partly why so many seeds are produced!!

    One of the others I knocked a leaf accidentally and it fell off! I think that'll be the next one to go!

    @Mani, exactly, in nature out of hundreds that make it many more thousands do not. And even when we grow a lot and they look good for the first couple of years, a high percentage don't go to the third year.
    Don't get down if they do eventually give up and die. There will be new seeds to collect again soon. Nature is good that way, there is always next year.
