The packages I receive say New Zealand but who knows. I know it works well for new root growth for sure.

I am getting twitchy waiting for these roots to show! I am tempted to put them into the sphagnum moss now in case they start to rot. Any thoughts?

If you have more than one to experiment with, why not @Mani

Do you think these translucent white things are roots? They look soooooo delicate!

If so, should i wait longer before trying to plant? How long should they be?

@Mani, good evening Mani, looks like it to me. Still a bit small to plant up IMO, but @zfrittz might think otherwise as he plants some very small rooted cuttings.

@Mani, OK Mani, you should normally expect 3 to 4 weeks to be ready to pot on. So your nearly there. I would want to see roots at about an inch before potting on.

Ok, thanks @Acerholic. It's exciting but I know there's a long way to go!

Just hope these roots get a bit thicker. Now i see why people say they can break easily!!

Good morning, rooted maples I plant when they are between 0.5 cm. and 2 cm. at the root, if they are left longer they break when planting.
The mixture I use is perlite, fine pine bark and a little peat, sieved between 2 and 3 mm. or akadama. Any mix that is very light and drains perfectly.

I do not want to disappoint you but I am surprised that these cuttings get to take root in water, and in case they take any root it is likely that it is already contaminated and when it is planted it will rot, the roots of the cuttings are very delicate in the first weeks of their rooting and you have to be very careful with irrigation and the land must be free of pathogens.
Good luck and I hope I'm wrong

@Acerholic, thanks for your words, I want to give an advice that a Japanese bonsai master told me for cuttings.

I would wait till the roots are good and long. As an aside I currently have a piece of Hydrangea rooting in water. I have it so the stem is just touching the water
