Just showed $1400 Mr Sun to my wife and hid the price, then the reveal and reply " You can forget that straight away". Lol.

OK, so a family day yesterday 'at last'. But today it's back to the trees lol.
These few are not usually on my postings, Vics Pink is looking lovely in the morning sun and Ruby Stars, that's 2 years old on the 29th June ( our 40th Wedding anniversary present to each other) is shining this morning.
Johin has turned completely green over the last two days, but that's how it goes.
Coral magic is doing so well in full sun, let's see how it handles 30° C.
Autumn Moon is as usual the strongest in my Shirasawanum's, never fails to please.
Otome Zakura is a cute one IMO. Looks like September colours all Summer long.
And Tsuma Beni, well the finger nails are not quite so red this year but it's still looking OK.

Tbh D, our partners do put up with a lot with us maple lovers. But secretly I think they like what we are doing. There are a lot worse things than collecting maples.

I was told a couple of years ago, by an expert grower, that Mr. Sun is difficult to keep alive. Perhaps that contributes to the rarity. Good luck with it!

Good to know @emery. I'm adding it to the list of problem maples I need to give extra care. I appreciate the luck.

Thanks. I guess the good thing is that unless I kill them they should all appreciate in value. That’s my justification anyway lol

I may have to start selling some duplicates. There are a few that I’ve got 2 or 3 of so I was thinking about maybe letting a few of them go.

Nice list @Luke’s Maples. I see about 5 on your list I ordered early spring.

I love summer gold! It's holding its color and taking full sun with no problem so far.

My Summer gold I received in March is doing likewise, definitely one to reccomend both sides of the pond it seems?

It is a really good list @Luke’s Maples , congratulations. Hopefully your SO will let you live to tell us how they do. :)

'Summer Gold' (which is x shirasawanum) is by all accounts a great maple, especially for the contrasting bright red samaras in larger ones. Mine is in the second year in ground, and objected to the month of May, looking pretty shabby now, but it's a super strong plant from Benoit Choteau in Belgium. His plants are so good, so I'm not worried about it at all.

Arg, stuck my arm in a beehive pulling down some out of control wisteria yesterday, 4/5 good stings right on the inner wrist. Hurt a bit then, but now swollen and _itchy_!!! I don't think I've ever got down a ladder faster, but they weren't at all aggressive and didn't follow me down, luckily.
